Using cdrecord on 2.6.9

Thank you, Collins. I'm finally getting back to this. It's unfortunate the
Joerg won't just make cdrecord play nicely with the new kernel policy.
IMHO, the new kernel policy is theoretically sound because userland 
programs messing with the SCSI bus has the potential for all sorts of 
mischief. Insofar as I'm really the only user of my desktop system, though,
the *theoretical* purity means little; I'm more interested in practical
utility. Perhaps a patch to fix the kernel capability in this regard is the
way to go.
