Conference Theme Is "MySQL Everywhere"
http://www.mysqluc.com
Proposal Deadline: November 1, 2004

If you've ever wanted to share your knowledge and help spread the word
about the power and versatility of MySQL, the world's most popular open
source database, now's your chance. The Call for Participation is now
open, and you're invited to submit a proposal to speak at the next MySQL
Users Conference, April 18-21, 2005, in Santa Clara, California.

To submit a proposal, go to:
http://conferences.oreillynet.com/cs/mysqluc2005/create/e_sess

The upcoming conference promises to be the largest gathering of the
MySQL community to date, including those looking to make the switch to
MySQL. MySQL AB has teamed up with O'Reilly Media, Inc. to co-present
the conference, which will feature leading industry speakers, new MySQL
products, in-depth sessions and tutorials, and an exhibit hall
showcasing the latest open source technologies.

The conference is a great opportunity to gather with the top database,
open source, and technology experts, including Gnome co-founder Miguel
de Icaza, who will present a keynote address at the 2005 event. Other
confirmed speakers include MySQL co-founders Monty Widenius and David
Axmark, CEO Marten Mickos, director of architecture Brian Aker, and
MySQL community relations manager Arjen Lentz.

Call for Participation Details

Since MySQL is being used in everything from embedded solutions to web
and back-office applications, the theme for the 2005 conference is

  architectures

- Data Warehouse and Data Marts
- Java
- LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP/Perl/Python)

- Migration
- .NET
- Performance Tuning and Benchmarks
- Scaling and High Availability

A General Track for emerging topics and sessions that don't necessarily
fall into other tracks is also planned.
