Married is good.  One of our tactics is to allow each some money in their
own account that they can do with as they will.  If I want something
expensive, I either beg until I can get it or wait until my account has the
funds needed to purchase what I want.  Given that I play with computers and
ham radios, it is usually several months between purchases.

I'd much rather be married than single.  It really got old.  On the
flipside, I can no longer buy both computer stuff and paintball stuff so
I'll just have to wait for my SD card.  I went and got shot at this weekend,
so no computer toys for me. :)
