Why not just move the Airport Extreme (APE) base station. Your other
option is to use a wireless
card that can take an external antenna. The APE is an 802.11g unit but
I'm not sure which
802.11g cards will work with Linux. 802.11b cards will also work with
the APE.
There are quite a few different external antennas that will fit the APE
you might be able to find
one that will get the signal out to you.
