Sorry I'm late on this, but--
When you use any form of the verb 'to be' ( is, was, has been, what some
refer to as helper verbs) a predicate nominative is required. Those are the
I, we, they, he, she) of the personal pronoun not me, us them, etc. Kurt
wasn't the only one. We bitch about the California schools? Where did all
you folks go to school? Course I went a few years ago, but just retired 12
years ago.
