I follow the Corel WP8/L newsgroup and dispense quantities of advice
(of questionable value) on it.
I read the post and took a look. I ordered probably the last one, since
the WP8 offer disappeared
shortly after I ordered. I thought it would be worth $20 to see if
Corel actually did anything to hoary WP8/L.
There are some tantalizing suggestions that Corel has made some
improvements, but not many details.
Some things I'll be (pleasantly) surprised to see:
1. No longer dependent on libc5 (either recompiled for libc6, or
provides own static libs).
2. Updated printer drivers.
3. Filtrix patch back in business, and, perish the thought, with
updates for MS Word 2000.

Anyhow, Linux Journal is waiting for my report, if the software ever
shows up.

I ordered TextMaker last year during the special. I think I have
updated it twice since then.
I use it for occasional HTML documents, since WP8 is not too swift in
that area. Good product, but it isn't WP.

BTW thanks for all of the recommendations for a monitor. Best Buy has
the Samsung 17" for $150, when in stock.
One feature I like is that brightness and contrast are adjustable
directly with buttons up front; don't have to enter a menu first.
