They haven't.  I flunked out of HS and still don't do real well in traditional 
education systems.  I was able to spend some time bouncing around the country 
and the world.  Then I was able to turn my obsession with computers into a 
reasonable job.  That is not really an option any longer.  During the late 
'90's boom I was unable to find a job that paid a living wage because I lacked 
a college degree.  I still wouldn't trade the travel for the degree or 
anything else.  I learned too much.
