I would have loved to be able to spend a year traveling immediately after
high school (ugh, i feel old, that was almost 10 years ago). But the
educational system in the US really isn't all that conducive to it. I
know that my options would have been severely limited had I not gone
straight from HS to college. Perhaps things have changed in the past
decade.
