I don't think we need to do much.  The M$ proposals are encumbered with 
patents and copyrights that M$ will administer (initially for free) to 
non-transferable licensee's.  There is no comment on M$ about what will happen 
in the future about charges for the licenses.

That approach completely bypasses the standards based foundation of the net. 
M$ still doesn't understand that net users want a standard that providers 
conform to and don't generate profits for the developer or allow the developer 
to keep competitors out.  M$ is still trying to own the net.  It hasn't worked 
yet.  I would rather M$ squander their billions in quixotic ownership attempts 
than funnel them to SCO.
