I found the same issue. You have to setup the configuration file
_exactly_ as you want things to end up, then create the list. A lot of
info is written into the mailman binary. So if you ever need to change
it, you change the configuration file, then delete the list, then
recreate it with the new configuration. Some of the things in the admin
section don't work (at least, not as expected). Just seems to be the
mailman way. At least, that's my take.
Must be deliberately designed for MCSEs.
