cut-and-paste in KDE xterm

My wife got me a Belkin 5 button mouse for valentines day.  On mine the 
left and right buttons do the same as the middle button, i.e. pastes.  
For mine the software that came with the mouse is m$ only so I know of 
no way to program the left and right buttons for anything else.  Though 
I haven't googled it yet either.
