and we could balance the national budget by selling the privilege of 
throwing the switch, at $100 a pop. that's the goal: make lawyers into 
conductors. no doubt they would put up some resistance. they have 
little capacity for such things.

of course, they needn't be just fricaseed because they are lawyers. 
there would be trials, for those who could find a non-lawyer willing to 
undertake the defense.
