stl problem

   I have a problem with some STL(standard install) on the ifstream->read func. This
has never given me any problems. It seems that when it now reads a line of test, I get
a segfault, I pass a *buff, with MAX_LEN. Is the stdc++ library apartof the glibc
system? or what should I look at dor a corrupted library. I have rplaced glibc to the
latest, but my problem was before I did that system build of the source code. Any
Ideas or suggestions apprefciated and a Tall cold verytusll Cold one will be lifted in
your honour<g>.
