RDP is actually far more secure than VNC as protocols go. When you see
'vnc' and 'encryption' in the same sentence they're really just
tunneling over SSH. TightVNC just automates configuration so you don't
have to think about it. That might work if you had an SSH server on
your target Windows box, but no bets. Those usually cost $$ anyway.
How secure the MS implementation of RDP is will always be open to
question, but if you need GUI-level access RDP is likely your best bet.
