I picked up on some rumblings about WD "Jumbo" drives' having an 
excessive failure rate.
(I think this came up in an earlier thread)
I tried to track this down, without finding anything conclusive.  What I 
did extrapolate was that
there were some reports of premature failures, and the proximate cause 
was heat.

I don't think I have to take up bandwidth on this list preaching the 
virtues of good case ventilation.

Like Kurt, I have started to use round IDE cables to remove obstructions 
to airflow in my cases.
Just don't use an ATA66/100 80 wire/40 pin cable with a CDROM or DVD.
