Well, some success with this.
After waiting about two or three weeks to get my manual
mechanical switch box, it finally came. I had specified a
supplier and a model number to our purchasing people. Our
purchasing people substituted a manual electronic switch,
from a different company, which didn't work.
So, they let me order it myself, and it came within
four days, and was just want I wanted, a simple manual
mechanical USB switch. It works as expected. The camera
changes its mode (camera vs storage device) when you throw
the switch. Progress, but this only took me about 6 weeks
to solve.
Now, to figure out how to program my computer to
automatically upload. I may have to use windows, but I'll
use tcl in that case.
