Nope.  As long as one of the potential mirrors is empty you can build
the RAID in 'degraded mode' which means it only has 1 partition.  You
then copy the data over to the RAID, make sure it works, and include the
old data parition in the RAID.  In fact, I think somebody wrote a SxS on
this.  Oops, was that a plug? ;)
