Not a bad idea to verify the installed files.  For RPM distros:

rpm --verify <package>

will show files that have changed since install.  Recently, I had to 
reinstall MailMan because for some reason about 20 files were 
different.  Not sure what happened... probably my 1-year-old finding 
that reset switch several times a day :(
She's cute though :)
