./configure error

I did too, but the previous installa tion of ImageMagick
worked fine with jpg. And, I tried to install
the package the FAQ suggested, but, it was already
installed. Unfortunately, I had no idea what files were
in that package, so I couldn't go sniffing around for a
path problem.
Anyway, things are working, although I am vague as to why.
