Alsa sound question

I restarted the artsd deamon, and now the thing works.

I guess I am just having a tough time with progress.

I dunno. The mp3's sound the same to me. Just creates more
permissions problems, seems to me. It would be nice if
they gave you a choice, which is what linux was supposed
to be all about.  I guess the apps have to be configured
to run with artsd, too, otherwise they won't work, so you
can't just get rid of artsd and still hear sound.
