Either you're not really using vfat as the filesystem, or your data is no
more. I suppose you could try using dd to get the raw data off the drive,
and then try mounting that image as a loopback.
I suspect there is some more history to this problem than what
you've stated. What was going on with this drive prior to the problem
occuring? Was it always connected to this same box? How long has it been
in use? How did you manage to fill it up to 100%?
