KDE cd and dvd player help

I was using 'emulate third button' on the mouse.  I switched to 3 button and 
it worked.  (???)  [Of course the scroll wheel doesn't work in this mode, time 
to play around...]

Gentoo is using devfs.  I am not sure of the point since everything is 
symlinked back to the /dev directory anyway.  I thought I saw that devfs is 
going away in 2.6.?, is that still the case?

[Time and testing pass....]

I am trying to watch the LOTR extended edition DVD's and they don't work 
(There is no input plugin available to handle 'dvd:/'  Maybe MRL syntax is 
wrong or file/stream source doesn't exist.)  Xine works fine for other DVD's. 
  Any ideas?
