Well, so far tcl/tk is a very nice surprise.

However, according to this glowing book review, tcl is "spiraling
downward out of view."

Not surprised, since most things I like seem to get deeped six.

BTW, the third edition of this book is on line somewhere for free. I am
using that now. It is very helpful. Most of the other stuff I found on
line seemed fine for Tcl but was very confusing for Tk.
