Curiosity about SUSE

The simple one is turning on services.
chkconfig seems to be standard across SuSE and RedHat both, and allows
somewhat granular control over which runlevels a service starts in.

Of course actually STARTING the services is still /etc/init.d/service start
or rcservice start

As for Founts to X and entries in /etc/services, I've never attempted to use
Yast for those things, but prefer to add them manually or with scripts. The
only things I want Yast2 to do are things which I either don't know well, or
are fast-moving (like the number of places Yast2 changes the name of the
system), or Desktop related.

But yes, Yast2 still remains in need of work.
