This sort of thing seems to be popping up all over and looks like an omen:

My doubts about the future of RH/Fedora grow by the day. It seems 
everywhere I see evidence of some growing community consensus of a need 
for a movement in the opposite direction.

And its not as if I can just sit here and wait it out, in days - weeks, 
I will have multiple systems with Internet exposure and no easy way to 
keep them updated.
