Linux Journal has just posted my Libranet 2.8 review on their website.
http://www.linuxjournal.com/article.php?sid=6878&mode=thread&order=0e
(There is a minor editing error - theirs - I have already reported.)
As a beta tester, I got what turned out to be the final release, but I
have ordered my upgrade.
I can't really afford to spend money on Linux either, but I'd like to
help make sure Libranet will be around for a while. I don't want
Libranet to go the way of Stormix.
Libranet is the only Linux that I have experienced that manages to
combine the nice "feel" I liked with Caldera eDesk 2.4 with an
up-to-date distro. It installs fast, and little tinkering is needed
to get it to work for me as a desktop user.
While I may be accused of letting the tail wag the dog, I need a Linux
that I can use WordPerfect8 on. There are only a few distro's that still
provide hospitality for WP8 out of the box.
