It has a limited slip differential. I was mobile and in control when
FWD's were
slaloming all over the place. Of course, I knew what I was doing.
One vital thing is never use the brake pedal. With the diesel, all
braking on packed snow or ice
is by regulating engine speed. People get into trouble when they rely
on technology instead of common sense and knowledge gained by
experience. Of course, that applies to Linux too. (See, I got this
thread back on topic.)

Actually, the 850's were made originally in Holland, in the former Van
Dorn's automobile factory. They used to make a car called DAF. One
model was the Daffodil.
