SuSE 8.2 just appeared on the shelf at Best Buy. Since the last SuSE I
bought was 8.0 I've been considering
getting 8.2. I appreciate the warnings.
Libranet 2.8 is out. It now sets up printers during installation (as
long as they are IEE 1284 compliant) and the Debian CUPS configuration
file glitch has been eliminated. For most printing, however, I prefer
to dump a doc in WordPerfect 8.1 and print via its raw printer.
Although WP8 is old, it is easy to install updated printer drivers,
since they are the same as used by WP DOS. I installed DOS HP drivers
for my recently acquired HP 1200 Laser Jet. WP8.1 prints noticeably faster.
