this could be a few different problems. first, which distro is this?
some distros came with xine already, and it badly conflicts with
attempts to build newer versions.
i'm pretty sure that you can disable runing an xine test program when
building xine-gui. run './configure --help' and check all the options,
this might give you a workaround, if you're certain that you've built &
properly installed all the prerequisites.
