Xine and FAAD

Which (sized) Matrix trailer are you attempting?  The largest (1000 
pixels) requires alot of physical memory, or it just plays horribly. 
Keep in mind that processing the audio takes up some CPU time & memory 
too, so the results with MPlayer aren't all that accurate if you're not 
getting sound.  I've successfully played the large (640 pixels) trailer 
on a box with a PIII-1Ghz w/512MB RAM using Xine without any problems. 
I was unable to play the largest version on the same box.

To answer your specific question though, i don't build Xine with any 
special options, just per the instructions on my DVD SxS.
