wow, someone is either lacking or having too much of something today.

At any rate, XFCE is a 'desktop environment'.  Redhat9 ships with more
than just one, so stating that "the desktop" is alot more responsive
really has no meaning, especially if its the kernel that is making the
system more responsive.
