SuSE shipped Reiser *way* before shipping ext3.

again, apples to oranges. reiserfs is a completely new codebase. it's easy for 
them to say "oops, here's why that broke. to fix it, we re-wrote everything." 
ext3 doesn't have that luxury. but, I still don't see you clarifying what 
"issues" you've had with ext3. it's run the mothership without issue since it 
was an alpha patch against the 2.2.x kernels.
