Kernel building help: what am I missing? [solved]

I assumed that in the native language support section, when it said '"Default 
NLS Option: "iso8859-1"' that meant that particular module would be included 
by default.  Now that I added in 'NLS ISO 8859-1  (Latin 1; Western European 
Languages)' the partition mounts just fine.
