OOo-1.0.1 Crashes X

Anybody experience situations where typing certain characters within OOo will 
cause X to crash?

Haven't tested this real thoroughly, but it seems that this happens when 
trying to type special characters in OOo. This was happening to my son today 
while he was trying to type a homework project.

I found this, http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=5994, which 
seems related.
