goof-up again

Probably not too clear about hard drives, they are IDE.
I tried putting <init=/bin/bash> in the edited line in several different
places. Pressed enter, then b for boot and the program went into the
<Install> setup every time.  Could I copy my init file from my working
partition to the non-working? And if so, how?
