Need Graphics

This particular Text graphic task is probably not the best task to use the
Gimp for. However, Gimp is by far one of the best graphis programs I've
ever used... Akin to Photoshop, though, NOT CorelDraw. They have
extremely different purposes. CorelPhotoPaint, perhaps. However, I just
did the task you desired using OpenOffice Draw. Check it out. I was able
to create a text area, type my WYSIWYG text, highlight each letter and
choose a different color. File->Export to JPEG file and you're set.
You'd probably be better off using the Gimp to crop it just right,
however. You don't generate HTML using Evolutions, do you? They why
would you try to do something in the Vector-graphics realm with a
Bitmap-Graphics editor. Not to come down hard on you. There's just
different tools for different things and it's hard for a Gimp-fan to hear
that it's "useless" when it is more an education thing.
