divx 5 player

I was sent by a young relative a movie in divx5. I tried to play it but the dvd 
player would not see the disk. I downloaded a player from www.dix.com for 
linux, installe and get the following;

[kantoine at bigpond kantoine]$ ls -l /usr/local/bin/divxPlayer
-rwxr-xr-x    1 root     root          131 Jul 19 11:37 /usr/local/bin/divxPlayer

so it exists and permission seem fine, but!

[kantoine at bigpond kantoine]$ /usr/local/bin/divxPlayer
/usr/local/bin/divxPlayer: /usr/local/bin/divxPlayer.bin: No such file or directory

It cannot be found when called ??????
