Well, we all know how you feel about the SuSE 80 installer :) And
rightfully so. SuSE 80 and MDK81 have similarly fornicated installers.
But then, the quick and dirty would be to get into the BIOS and turn off
the special crap to the drive. The Cable would be an easy way to
accomplish this, although I've never tried it. What kind of machine is
she using? The Award BIOS, IIRC, is the one with the White on Blue
centered menu. The Hard Drive config should be the first option. Have
her play with moving around that screen with the cursors/tab. Doesn't
this stuff always happen on the first install? :(
It is a sad state when the HARD DRIVE, of all things, is getting too
complex to use. Next, you'll have to configure your BIOS to use the
CDROM-Sound Card cable.
