Hard drive not detected properly by linux

I don't know what the minor version is. That's all lilo reports.
The HOWTO says lba32 is only supported by version > 21

Something like can't find temp.0 or whatever, in the first line or two of
the output of make.

Now, from my other post you can see that the problem is near to being
solved. I will eventually try using this as my boot disk, and that will
be the real test.
