Any ideas on ppscsi/sane problem?

FYI.... I sent an email earlier saying I was having similar problems with a
SCSI scanner... and SuSE 8.0.
I went to the SuSE knowledge base and searched on 'sane' and came up with:
http://sdb.suse.de/en/sdb/html/pohletz_xsane_noscanner.html
which described some minor changes that could be made in /etc/sane.d/xxxxxx
files.
Cured my problem.......... scanner is now recognized.
