Xine and RH

I have xine running on RH 7.3, COL 3.1.1, Mandrake 8.1 and Gentoo 1.2 I can 
view *.mpeg clips through a browser using xine quite flawlessly on all the 
distro's except RH. To verify that its not the content locking up the system, 
I use several computers each with a different distro to view the same clip. 
On just about every second clip RH locks up solid. I can not even go to 
another consol to kill the process. Hell, I can't even telnet into the RH box 
when xine locks on it. There are no clues in the logs.

 This is the forth time I've decided to give RH a try and probably my last. 
Gentoo runs quite well on the same box and xine does not lock up no matter 
what. I see that Slack's new release is out, I'll have to give that a try and 
see how it dwells.

 I'm rapidly running out of distro's to recommend to newbies, damb! That 
leaves only COL 3.1.1 and SuSe. I can only pray that there will be a COL3.2.
