The only career manager you can trust to have your best interests at heart is
yourself... and even that goes out the window if there is a member of the
opposite sex involved.
I don't have a shred of sympathy. The people at SCO had to be complete dorks
not see this coming! The ship is sinking, the water is lapping at the guard
rails, there are holes the size of locomotives in the hull, the Captain seems
to have permanently forgotten which closet he left reality in, and all the
paying passengers have left.
What part of "lost cause" do these people not understand? The only ones that
should be left are those bound by contract (and even then there are ways) and
those who are convinced that no-one else in the industry would hire them
(probably for good reason). It's my experience that all the employees worth a
darn are the first to leave... by normal extrapolations, the shipping clerk
is probably now the CIO.
