Yah. The I love the optical zoon. The S1 IS also has a 10x one, which
is one reason I didn't mind that it was 3.2 MP. You don't need to crop
when you can zoom right in.

It's got an Image Stabilizer chip, too, which is really neat. It makes
a pretty significant difference, although from what I understand, it 
isn't as good as the higher end canon or the Nikon image stabilization.
