|imap are provided for me conveniently by gmail. I can access my mail
|from any supported browser, and I don't have to worry about
|maintaining a slew of software products to do this myself. Google also
|identifies about 98% of the spam that I receive, and it's easy to
|whack the spam or unspam the mail if a mistake has been made.
gmail is pretty good. Maybe they'll open source the code for it?
Meanwhile I personally make available openwebmail via https connections
(http redirects to the https side). Not bad, includes calendaring too.
