The nice thing is you can turn transparency on/off at will, same as the
drop-shadows. I'm running yesterday's CVS - it reports itself as
v6.8.0-rc3 - without the eye-candy enabled because, at this point, it
puts a moderately heavy load on the CPU when it is enabled (it varies
from roughly 15-75% depending on what you are doing). Hopefully they
get this corrected by or before next 'rc' release.
