OT: Linux enscript/ps2pdf

Good afternoon
Does anyone know if enscript (and/or subsequently ps2pdf) is capable of
encoding line draw characters?
We have several reports that have boxes around them that when printed print
just fine and look good - but trying to convert them to pdf and be emailed
- can't seem to capture proper encoding with enscript and ps2pdf(wr)
Just wondered if anyone has does this at all
I can get everything else to look good just not the line draw characters
