Hi, Thanks for your reply. This key file holds all men who served on
the USS McCaffery from 1945-1973, and data about them. We have one man,
Bill, who tries to find members who served on board. We have about
1220 members out of about 5000 who served. When Bill finds lost members
he adds them and updates those of us that have filepro (legal copies).
At that time Bill sent a PKZIP file that recreated the complete MAC
folder. When I made a change in the program, I made sure I had the
latest updates before sending the PKZIP file. That was a very easy way
for Bill and I to update everyone.
I am now training people to take over from me, and others so that we can
retire---we need younger people to take over. So I am thinking about
having them send updated individual files, like key, .prc, .out, .sel,,
and the like. And I need to find the easiest way for them to update
their files. One guy has to have his wife help him do things on his
computer.
It's terrible to get old.
