I don't know why any Mayan would believe that the world would end simply 
because their calendar will "run out", any more than someone else might have 
believed that the world was coming to an end after 31-Dec-1999.

Now, "thrown into panic as the world's computer systems failed to realize 
that it was 2000 and not 1900" is another story.  :-)

I'm still trying to find someone willing to sell me their home real cheap,
