fP's direction...and my past errors

I pride myself on being able to re-evaluate situations and revise opinions
based on new insights and information. On this -particular- day, I've had
the following epiphanies:
* filePro is so much better with a spell checker. This single feature
alone is probably the best new addition to 5.6, outstripping the many silly
wishlist items like > 80x24 screens that didn't make the cut. The only
feature that can truly compete is the new, trouble-free, hands-off license
manager that has simplified the lives of so many developers.
* fPGI is a very good GUI. It gains strength and distinction by breaking
with the usual paradigm-driven GUI expectations, and bringing that
terminal-based home-like feel into the future by integrating that
philosophy into the GUI design of tomorrow.
* fPODBC was actually well conceived. The server-side that everyone wanted
and thought would make fP "relevant" again is quite obviously unnecessary
after several years of observation--people have done just fine without it;
just as obviously, *nix systems don't even need client-side functionality,
as they don't often interact with Windows boxen.
* fPSQL is pretty standardised, full-featured, and lightning fast.
* fPCGI is robust, flexible, and safe as houses.
* Biometrics surely is the future of filePro. It follows a long line of
tradition that has seen such marvels as fP-Video and other products that
surely rival (if not surpass) the flagship product itself. The clear
vision and foresight behind products like these, and the willingness to
forego ridiculous extravagances such as a cross-language API, are one
reason filePro is the strong industry leader it is today.
Never let it be said I can't be swayed in my opinions.
