The PFPRTC (printer type) determines how filePro will translate printcodes
into control sequences, on the way to the printer. When doing passthrough
print through Anzio you have these options (once you get passthrough print
to work at all). Note there is a dependy upon whether you have Anzio Lite
or AnzioWin.
1. Choose a printer type to match the actual printer. Anzio needs to send
this data transparently to the printer, so set Anzio's Print Level to
Spooler. Or, with AnzioWin, leave Print Wizard turned on, and it will
manage that for you.
It sounds like this is not possible in your case, because there's not a
filePro definition file that fits your printer.
2. Choose a printer type that uses PCL-5; use AnzioWin; turn on Print
Wizard; enable Translate PCL in AnzioWin. Print Wizard will translate the
PCL codes and render on ANY printer, or to PDF or fax.
3. Install and use the Print Wizard printer definition file into filePro;
use AnzioWin; turn on Print Wizard. FilePro will convert printcodes to
Print Wizard Markup Language (PWML), send that to AnzioWin's Print Wizard,
which will interpret and render on any printer.
Hope this helps.
